I wish life were an Ice Rink

For 18 years of my life, I admit that im not that hardcore of an explorer that i thought i was.

It was last month that for the first time in a while that i had been thrown in the deep end of things. To be forced to 'wing it' with absolutely no exposure to the thing whatsoever. Ice skating is painful, tedious and stressful yet at the same time euphoric, addictive and fun.I never really got why people found ice skating so addictive, it was only after trying that i found the reason why. You get this sense of speed and sense of freedom never experienced before. Imagine an almost frictionless ground and your gliding across it like a swan (i was more of an elephant than a swan .haha . but nevermind ) . Its probably like walking on air.

But,
When you fall, it becomes clearly evident who owns who here . If i got a dollar out of everytime i fell on the ice, i could be able to buy a pretzel or two.

(keynote address)
Everytime i did fall on the ice, i noticed people around the side would always come by and help me up . It wasn't just a one time thing, it happened constantly. People would fall like flies on ice and soon, a few people would come by and help you up. So it made me think, why cant we all live on an ice rink. No ones trying to outdo the other, everyone just trying to have fun. And when a brother or sister falls on the ice, people come by regardless of who you are and just try to bring you back to your feet. It was an eye opening experience. See, we're not that greedy and mean to each other. we do care for others.

It made me think, why cant life be like an ice rink. everyone's coexisting peacefully, no problems whatsoever.we're all just trying to get by in this slippery world.

  2. If it is, I'm sure you can't call it 'Life' anymore.
eddy.If you don't fall (or in 'Life's' case, u'r the 'bullied' one) you might not meet the people who helped you (in life's situation, you might not know that they actually care)
there'r basicly many reasons for black, white and grey :)
